The successful candidate must be available to begin immediately to diagnose and repair core issues, ensuring that administrative and content management operations can resume immediately. This role is crucial for public access to essential state-run museum resources. Primary Responsibilities & Scope of Work Your primary focus will be on emergency repair and stabilization of existing, highly customized systems. Website Access Restoration: Immediately diagnose and repair issues causing the missing WordPress login PHP file to restore login functionality for administrative and content management users. Static Pages Restoration: Fix issues preventing live changes from being made to the static, public-facing portions of the site. Codebase Stabilization: Apply necessary fixes to problematic custom PHP code, outdated plugins, and legacy configurations that are contributing to the current website instability. Content Management Support: Implement minor, feasible updates to improve basic navigation and usability to ease public access and content management for the NCMNS team. Short-Term Maintenance: Provide clear, actionable recommendations for maintaining site operability over the short term, including essential updates and identifying potential future points of failure. Documentation: Meticulously document all repairs, temporary fixes, and recommendations to ensure the NCMNS team can maintain site functionality going forward. Required Qualifications Candidates must have extensive, hands-on experience that directly aligns with the emergency nature of this project: Extensive experience with PHP Development (specifically debugging and repairing existing code). Deep experience with WordPress Development, including custom themes, plugins, and core files. Proven ability to review existing code to quickly diagnose and repair critical issues (e.g., missing or corrupted core WordPress files). Experience in restoring admin and content management access after a login file failure. Demonstrated ability to identify and stabilize problematic custom PHP code, outdated plugins, and legacy configurations.
