Job Description

A school-based social worker position is available to support middle school students in an educational setting. The role focuses on addressing students' social, emotional, and behavioral needs to foster a positive learning environment and promote student success.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct individual and group counseling sessions to support students mental health and well-being
  • Collaborate with educators, parents, and administrators to develop intervention plans and provide resources
  • Assess students social and emotional needs and create strategies for improvement
  • Facilitate crisis intervention and conflict resolution when necessary
  • Maintain accurate case records and documentation complying with privacy regulations
  • Participate in team meetings and contribute to multidisciplinary planning efforts

Desired Qualifications and Experience:

  • Degree in social work (BSW or MSW preferred) with state licensure or eligibility
  • Experience working with middle school-aged children in an educational or clinical setting
  • Strong understanding of adolescent development, mental health issues, and school counseling techniques
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with students, families, and school staff
  • Ability to manage confidentiality and navigate mandated reporting requirements
  • Flexibility and adaptability in a contract role within a school environment
